Chicago, IL – Passion House Coffee, a specialty coffee roasting company based in Chicago, has partnered with My State of Mind (MSOM), a mental wellness solution by Chance the Rapper’s charity, SocialWorks. Passion House will now serve their award-winning cold coffee brew in specially designed cans that join the Passion House Coffee branding with My State of Mind’s philosophy.
Starting August 2019, with every purchase of the MSOM Cold Brew, 50% of the proceeds benefits MSOM’s efforts to create meaningful access to our mental health space. Consumers can find the MSOM Cold Brew at Passion House Coffee locations, the SocialWorks’ website and local retailers – Goddess & Baker (both locations in the Loop), Laine’s Bake Shop (Pullman), and Paulette’s Market (Pilsen).
“This project hits me straight in the heart, and I’m so proud to partner with My State of Mind. Since the age of 16, I’ve had to work every day to overcome my struggles, and through this partnership, I hope we can raise funds and awareness around the importance of a strong mental health support system, said Joshua Millman, Owner, Passion House Coffee Roasters. “Erasing the stigma and allowing everyone to get help easily is a mission I get behind every time.”
MSOM aims to unify the broader mental health community, increase access and visibility of services, and make it admirable, to be honest with yourself and others. With the help of the MSOM cohort, comprised of the Illinois Department of Human Services, Cook County Department of Health, Cook County Department of Public Health, Sista Afya, local practitioners, and The Chicago Department of Public Health, MSOM will be the most extensive digital guidebook available to Cook County, displaying a diverse list of mental health wellness services. Why? Because people need mental wellness options as unique as them. MSOM is a tool that will help people access a broad range of services that include clinical, and non-clinical models. Whether a creative space that reinforces community, a therapeutic dance studio, or a therapist that you can relate to, this guidebook allows you to take comfortable steps towards improving your overall mental health and wellness.
“MSOM is creating a space where access to wellness doesn’t feel out of reach.” says Justin Cunningham, Executive Director of SocialWorks, “A place where you can hone into your individuality and make the right decision for yourself and for the people you care about.”
The MSOM Guidebook will be available March 2020 for anyone to enjoy over a cup of Java, and thanks to Passion House Coffee for bringing Cook County one step closer to providing a new culture surrounding Mental Health.
