Interactive art museum partners with multiple Chicago-based businesses and organizations, including 826CHI and MCA Chicago

CHICAGO, IL –News Direct– Color Factory

Ahead of their highly-anticipated third permanent installation opening this June, the interactive art museum, Color Factory, has announced local partnerships with several prominent businesses and nonprofit organizations, including 826CHI, the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, and SocialWorks.

“Our local partnerships are a key part of how we live up to our commitment to not only celebrating, but actively supporting the communities that we are a part of. We love the vibrant energy of this city and are proud to be able to partner with such incredible Chicago-based organizations and businesses. Through collaborations with 826CHI and SocialWorks, we’re hoping to raise awareness for these amazing nonprofits and to provide positive, joyful programming that connects youth with art. With each of our museums, Color Factory hopes to help create community and an inclusive destination where citizens can interact with art and each other,” said Tina Malhotra, CEO of Color Factory.

Exploring the way that words on a page can conjure vivid colors and images in our minds, Color Factory has developed an interactive installation in partnership with 826CHI, a non-profit creative writing, tutoring, and publishing center dedicated to amplifying the voices of Chicago youth. The installation, called ‘Immersed in Verses,’ will feature colors inspired by poetry collected as part of 826CHI’s writing programs. Dedicated to supporting Chicago students with their creative and expository writing skills, 826CHI encourages the exploration of endless possibility through the power of writing. Color Factory will also sell a custom 826CHI pencil set featuring poetry from the experience with all proceeds going to the nonprofit.

Color Factory will also partner with SocialWorks, a nonprofit founded by Grammy-award-winning musician and humanitarian Chance the Rapper that aims to empower the youth through the arts, education, and civic engagement. The museum aims to provide ongoing creative and programming support, including free Color Factory admission for Kids of the Kingdom summer program participants.

In addition to nonprofit support, Color Factory is partnering with over a dozen local food, drink, and other small businesses, incorporating local flair through the museum. Kurimu Chicago will provide their Melona Melon ice cream to complement the green ball pit experience, while TE’AMO Bobo Bar has designed a custom, colorful drink to parallel the live color mixing of artist Liz West’s piece “Gradient Remix.”. Bunch of Munchies will create Chicago Flag-inspired krispies treats for guests to enjoy in “Windy City Confetti Accumulation,” while Color Factory’s signature, colorful macarons will be baked locally by La Fournette.

Color Factory’s Color Shop has also partnered with Bon Femmes on custom items as well as a curated selection of products from local artists. The shop will also feature a Button-o-Matic from Busy Beaver Button Co., from which guests can purchase one of seven artist-designed buttons to benefit learning programs at the MCA.

In addition to these partners, Color Factory’s neighborhood map will also feature partnerships with NAILàCARTEPonnopozz, and Wicker Park Secret Agent Supply Co.,

Earlier this spring, Color Factory also announced a new partnership with Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (MCA). The partnership is set to include an exclusive product collection celebrating Chicago and featuring art from and inspired by Color Factory artists and installations. It will be available for purchase at the MCA Store and Color Factory Chicago Color Shop starting mid-June.

Opening this June in Chicago’s Willis Tower, Color Factory Chicago is set to be the largest exhibition space in the company’s history and will span over 25,000 sq ft. Color Factory has partnered with artists to create more than a dozen immersive spaces that tap into all five senses – taste, touch, sight, scent, and sound. This one-of-a-kind experience brings together a stunning series of new installations created specifically for Color Factory and Chicago by this roster of renowned artists.
