This weekend, SocialWorks brings N.B.A.’s All-Star weekend to the South Side of Chicago with events featuring our very own Chance The Rapper, Chicago Bulls’ Daniel Gafford, Klutch Founder & C.E.O., Rich Paul, and SocialWorks’ student Jordan Designers, before closing out for a viewing party featuring one-of-a-kind customizable merchandise, pop-a-shot competition, give-a-ways, and chances to win tickets to the All-Star Game! Wednesday, the events kick off with Balling with the Stars! Balling with the Stars is a public event hosted at Urban Prep Academy (6201 S. Stewart Ave. Chicago) on Wednesday, February 12th. Chance The Rapper battles G Herbo for our official Tip-Off of All-Star weekend. See Windy City Live’s Val Warner, DJ Oreo, Ballinois Bri, Englewood Barbie, and Derrick Rose’s son, PJ Rose, as the Senior Referee. This event is FREE for students and anybody 17 & Under. $20 admission for anyone 18 and over.

 

The following day we enjoy a day of mindfulness with our North Carolina partner, Eustress. Thursday, February 13th SocialWorks hosts Eustress In Color: Adult Coloring Night hosted by Chicago Bull’s Center, Daniel Gafford. This evening will consist of coloring at the SocialWorks Office (2150 S. Canalport, Chicago) and open to all levels of coloring. Whether you’re building a business, going back to school, or just on your grind, this event allows you to sit back and color like back in the day. This event is FREE, and you can register here!

Friday, we kick off a Klutch Conversation with Chairman and Founder of SocialWorks, Chance the Rapper, and Klutch Founder and C.E.O., Rich Paul. These two will have a conversation in front of 750 upperclassmen a part of SocialWorks’ New Chance Fund, and share insight on their upbringing, family, business moves, and how to be black in America. Saturday, SocialWorks heads to the Hyde Park Armory to celebrate the OpenMike students, Kids of the Kingdom students, and New Chance Fund student that designed SocialWorks’ very first sneaker! February 15th, SocialWorks’ joins forces with Jordan Brand to ignite HUB23!, a weekend of unity and community through basketball. Be sure to lookup keep an eye out on what events HUB23! will be held throughout the weekend.

To close out this memorable weekend, SocialWorks will be throwing an N.B.A. All-Star Game Activation & Watch Party to commemorate and experience the all-star game! SocialWorks will be opening doors at 11AM to invite youth and community members to experience artist workshops, customizable merchandise, pop-a-shot competition, give-a-ways, special guests, and chances to win tickets to the All-Star Game!
