A coalition of organizations is back together for another fun-filled food giveaway event just in time for the holiday season. Organized by Discover and Conscious Alliance, residents are invited to drive-thru or walk up to the parking lot event where quality turkeys and traditional holiday sides will be distributed free of charge. Residents are also encouraged to join in the community block party celebration which will include food demonstrations, free grocery gift cards and music by DJ SUNDANCE. The event will take place in the parking lot of the new Discover customer care center in Chicago’s Chatham community. Volunteers will assist community members with getting food to their cars and homes.

As the pandemic continues with impacts to the supply chain, the increasing costs of food is having a real impact on many families. A collective of local organizations is leveraging resources to ensure South Side residents have access to quality food in advance of the holiday.

Volunteers from SocialWorks, Taste for the Homeless, Gyrls in the H.O.O.D, and Harlem Globetrotters Will Join in Effort to Distribute 1500 Grocery Boxes and Grocery Gift Cards
