A Chance of a Lifetime: Undercover Lyft with Chance the Rapper

Renowned rapper and philanthropist Chance the Rapper has just revealed a new talent: Undercover Lyft driver.

In spite of a few name drops and lyrical references, Chance was still able to fool (most) Lyft riders as he spent the day incognito behind the wheel — that is, until he put on his famous #3 hat. (Pink, naturally.)

Chance’s stint as an Undercover Lyft driver was all to accomplish one thing: to shine some light on the Round Up & Donate feature in the Lyft app, which allows Lyft riders to round up their fares and donate the difference to the cause of their choice. This time, Lyft is partnering with SocialWorks and The New Chance Fund — Chance’s nonprofit that aims to empower youth through the arts, education, and civic engagement while fostering leadership, accessibility, and positivity within Chicago youth. While incognito as a Lyft driver, Chance chatted with riders about the importance of giving back.

“Together, Lyft and I have been giving back with Round Up & Donate for SocialWorks’ New Chance Fund,” says Chance the Rapper. “Now, we’re having some fun in my hometown, Chicago, as I go undercover as a Lyft driver. I hope this video encourages even more folks to give back just by taking a Lyft.”
