#SupportCPS Fashion Show: Presented by Unity Fashion Group
The Fashion Show, to be held at House of Vans, will feature clothing designed by Chicago Public School Students who won SocialWorks’ #SupportCPS student design contest. The fashion show will feature all five student designs and clothing lines from Northwestern student designers and Chicago City College student designers.
All proceeds from the event will benefit the New Chance Arts & Literature Fund.
The Fashion Show will also include:
Live Performances
Free Bai Beverages and Samples
Student-Designed Merchandise
In the Fall of 2017, five Chicago Public School students, ranging from Kindergarten to Highschool, began a journey of creativity, imagination, and design. SocialWorks and Champion Clothing teamed up to offer five students the opportunity of a lifetime, win $1,000, $500 for their school and $500 for their family, and take their art, inspired by CPS, and print it on Champion Clothing. The winners, Ariana, Juliana, Aaron, Melissa, and Kaleb all put their interpretation of #SupportCPS on paper, and now it lives on beautiful Champion Crewnecks and Hoodies. Along the way, a group of college students from Northwestern University decided that their own interest in fashion could be an opportunity to give these students a platform to celebrate their success, creativity, and the cause of #supportCPS. Our five #SupportCPS student designs will have features in the fashion show, bringing our five students from the drawing board, to the design table, to merch manufacturing, to distribution, and now a fashion show.
Unity Student Fashion Group, of Northwestern University, aims to unite communities through fashion and philanthropy.
