SocialWorks needs your help with our upcoming events! We’re continuing to sort the clothing collected from the 2023 Warmest Winter drive and facilitating our 74th and 75th OpenMike. Learn more information below, and we hope to see you soon!

Sorting + Clothing Giveaway (March) 

• Dates: Friday, March 22nd, 2024 9:00am-1:00pm 
• Location: Illinois Department of Human Services • 10 S Kedzie Ave, Chicago, IL 60612
• Volunteers should be prepared to sort clothes collected during the 2023 Warmest Winter Clothing Drive and support transient individuals who “shop” to receive clothing and other resources within the SocialThreads store.  
• SocialWorks will provide volunteers with:
  • Latex Gloves
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Masks
  • Snacks
  • Water
• Volunteer Registration Deadline: Wednesday, March 20th at 12pm

• Volunteers should be prepared to welcome and exalt young people, encouraging them to connect, express, and network.
• Volunteer Registration Deadline: Friday, March 22nd at 12pm 

OpenMike

• Date: Monday, April 15th, 2024 3:30pm – 7pm 
• Location: WNDR Museum • 1130 W Monroe St, Chicago, IL 60607
• Volunteers should be prepared to welcome and exalt young people, encouraging them to connect, express, and network.
• Volunteer Registration Deadline: Friday, April 12th at 12pm

If selected, you will receive a follow-up email with your confirmed time slot and date no later than 24hrs after the volunteer registration deadline! We suggest adding HOLDs on your calendars for the volunteer opportunity you selected to ensure you remember the pertinent information before receiving SocialWorks’s confirmation email.
