Chance the Rapper, his non-profit SocialWorks, and Ben & Jerry’s are celebrating National Teacher Appreciation Week by inviting Chicagoland area teachers and guests to a Chance the Rapper-hosted event on Monday, May 2 from 5 – 7 pm at Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shop at Navy Pier (600 East Grand Ave, Chicago, 60611).

Guests and media are invited to attend the event at 5:00 pm for the kickoff hosted by Chance the Rapper, SocialWorks, and Ben & Jerry’s. Chance the Rapper and Ben & Jerry’s joined forces earlier in the year to launch Mint Chocolate Chance ice cream and Non-Dairy dessert.

In addition to the May 2nd kick-off event, teachers will be given free ice cream from May 2-6 at all 3 participating Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops in the greater Chicagoland area (Navy Pier, Glenview, and Naperville). Free Scoops will be given to any teacher or admin who shows a school ID and/or badge.

Chance the Rapper donates a percentage of his proceeds of the sale of Mint Chocolate Chance to his five-year-old non-profit, SocialWorks. SocialWorks aims to empower youth through the arts, education and civic engagement with programming that focuses on education, mental health, homelessness and performing and literary arts. SocialWorks directly impacts thousands of young people yearly while inspiring creativity, building dreams and advocating for youth success in all its forms.
